Assessing Food Labels

This one-day seminar has been designed to help enforcement officers working in the field of food standards to undertake effective assessments of food labels.

It is a small-group practical seminar run by Dr Andy Bowles, Specialist Food Law Solicitor, who will take delegates through a comprehensive food label assessment checklist using practical examples.

The day will include discussion on the basic mandatory requirements as well as nutritional labelling, nutrition and health claims, use of food additives, checking novel ingredients and other claims. The seminar will also include the labelling of food supplements.

Pointers will be given towards common areas of non-compliance.
