ABC Food Law CPD Short Course Terms and Conditions of Booking

1. Booking

A course booking shall be made on an official booking form provided by ABC for that purpose and shall be confirmed by ABC upon receipt. The booking form constitutes a binding contract between the parties. ABC reserves the right not to confirm bookings where an official booking form has not been submitted.

2. Authorisation of Expenditure

In making a booking, a delegate (or other person acting on their behalf) is deemed to have obtained the necessary authority for payment of the course fee from their employer or organisation.

3. Payment and Payment Period

3.1  Course fees are payable within 28 days of date of invoice. Invoices shall be sent to a delegate immediately after their attendance on the course. In some cases \, such as accredited qualifications, ABC may require payment in advance and where this is the case a delegate shall be advised of this at the time of booking.

3.2  In the event that payment is not made within the 28 day period, ABC reserves the right to add interest at a rate of 2% of the invoice sum.

4.1 Cancellations and changes to bookings by delegates

4.1 Within 28 days of the course date

If a delegate wishes to cancel a course booking within 28 days of the course date, the course fee shall become payable in full. Where payment of the course fee has been made in advance no refund shall be payable. However in either case a substitute delegate may attend the course at no additional charge.

4.2 Up to and including 29 days in advance of the course date

If a delegate wishes to cancel a booking up to and including 29 days of the course date, 50% of the course fee shall be payable. In the event that payment has been made in advance, this will be refunded less 50% of the course fee.

5. Cancellations and postponements of courses by ABC

ABC reserves the right to vary, cancel or postpone a course in the event of any unforeseen circumstances or where it sees fit. ABC shall make its best efforts to inform delegates as soon as possible in this event. Delegates shall be offered a place on the course if it is to be rescheduled, or a place on an alternative course. If neither option is acceptable and payment has been received in advance then the course fee will be refunded in full.

6. Intellectual Property Rights

Delegates shall not make copies of any of the course materials except with the prior permission of ABC.

7. Liability

ABC shall not be liable for claims (save for death or personal injury where these are caused by the negligence of ABC or its employees) for any loss or damage to property, or any economic, indirect or consequential losses to delegates howsoever arising, except where this clause 7 is rendered void under the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977.
