10 December 2020
What new features will be introduced?
The following new features will introduced as part of our service update:
On-demand webinars
Our on-demand webinars are currently hosted by "Webinato". From next week these will be available on our own website which will provide us with more flexibility in how they are delivered.
Key benefits will include:
Why are the changes being made?
There are three main reasons why we are making these improvements:
1) Technical: Microsoft have recently withdrawn support for Internet Explorer and support for Adobe Flash player ends on 31st December 2020. As such, instead of requiring our subscribers to install software to permit the continued use of the Webinato webinar service, we have decided to move our “on-demand” webinars onto our own website. This will allow our subscribers to continue to use our service without the need for any additional software.
2) Improved functionality: We are grateful for the feedback that we have received from our subscribers and are confident that the update will make our service even better value for money.
3) Improved webinar content: We will shortly announce a new programme of “live” webinars to be broadcast in the New Year. These will be delivered via a new HTML5 "Flow" platform which will help us to make our webinars even more accessible and engaging. More details on this soon ...
How will the update be managed?
The new update will be rolled out w/c 14th December. The new "on-demand" service will become available to subscribers in parallel with the existing service. As such there will be no disruption to the service and nothing for our subscribes to do.
The existing "on-demand" webinar platform will be withdrawn completely on 21st December.
